Much of our activities is in preparation of the club's annual Specialty Show. The Specialty Show is a dog show & obedience trial just for Dalmatians. It's a big undertaking and needs member participation to staff the various committees to make the show a success.
We also hold one or more sanctioned matches or fun matches during the year. All matches provide a bit of ring exposure for young, show potential pups and obedience trained dogs. A santioned match is one that is structured according to the AKC rules and has received AKC approval. It is open to all Dalmatian owners whether they are DCSNE club members or not. Fun matches are for DCSNE club members only and additional "FUN" classes are added like - Best Spots - Best Head - Best Expression - Best Smile, etc.
DCSNE has breeder referral contacts. These members take calls from people who are looking for a Dalmatian and refers them to other members who may have puppies, retired show dogs or other quality adult dogs available for placement.
DCSNE participates in educational activities to show the true nature of the Dalmatian and what living with a Dalmatian in your home can be.
DCSNE recognises the achievements of its members and their dogs who have completed AKC titles and other activities through the year by presenting them with plaques and/or certificates at the Annual Meeting held in January.
